Books in the Middle

As you probably know, we have a huge selection of books in the Centre, in the area we call Books in the Middle. Matt Care recently took advantage and then sent us in this lovely review:

Are your visitors aware of the book sharing / exchange ‘library’ service you offer? I have recently ‘discovered’ this resource and fallen in love with it. I have lately got into reading as something to do in those long wet evenings and long since exhausted our own stock of faithful titles, so decided to branch out and read something by someone I had never read before.

I have just read “Daughter of Fortune” by Isabel Allende and was delighted to find that it was a really good read. It is set in Chile and California prior to and during Gold Rush times and follows the fortunes of a young woman and a Chinese traditional-medicine Doctor (zhong-yi). It is an adventurous romp, well written and obviously very well researched.

I shall be returning this book this week and will enjoying choosing something else in return. Thank you for the ‘library’ and the opportunity to read some unlikely stuff. Keep up the good work.
