Neighbours, everybody needs good neighbours…*

Our neighbouring village, Loughglynn, are having a bit of a do over the bank holiday weekend. There will be the usual fantastic Loughglynn Festival music and dancing (in Creatons, The Village Inn and the Community Centre), but this year there is something a little bit special too.

Over the summer, our CE team have been helping the Loughglynn Tidy Towns committee to create a Community Garden of Remembrance in green space beside the Main Street.  This is part of a state-wide programme intended to leave a lasting legacy of Ireland’s past history, in line with 1916:2016 celebrations.

The official opening of the garden will take place on Sunday, July 31st at 4:30pm and will involve unveiling the plaque, reading the Proclamation, raising the flag, and blessing the garden.

There will also be tea and biscuits and EVERYONE is welcome to attend.

I know what’s under here. You’d be CRAZY to miss the unveiling.

*apologies for any earworms this may cause
