This week it’s Hallowe’en and then it’s ….

Okay so we’re not mentioning the C word just yet, mainly because there is such a lot of stuff on before then.

This weekend some villagers are heading off to Dublin for the Knit and Stitch Show at the RDS with the Ballaghaderreen Knit, Crochet and Craft Club, with plans to bring back ALL the wool (and fabric and needles), then next weekend we’re putting on the glad rags for TWO events.

On Friday 28th, we have the Village Tea Party where we come together to share our food and drink with friends and fellow villagers in the Community Centre,¬†and on Saturday 29th, Creaton’s are hosting a fancy dress party with prizes for the best outfits. ¬†Monday 31st is, of course, Hallowe’en when ghosties and ghoulies and long leg-ity beasties and things that go bump in the night roam around the lanes and bogs (and knock on the doors of the village in search of sweeties).

And in the middle of all this, we’ll be celebrating the launch of Lisacul’s 2017 calendar, featuring some of the pictures taken for the 365 project but don’t tell anyone because it’s supposed to be a

  1. OK. Your secret’s safe with me. Can you tell us what they’ll “hit the streets” at (price?). They will make great stocking fillers. Hope you’ve got plenty. I am thinking put me down for 5, there’s Mum, Mum in Law, Bro+Sis in Law, …… etc
